It was not easy to live in totally different set of environment. Leaving my lovely village to Semarang city, the very first time in my life meeting people from different parts of Java and Indonesia. The genuine values from my village helped me a lot in getting along with my friends. My first semester was a challenge. Soon I realized that there were more than what my parents told me. At this stage I was more logical instead of using “my old courtesy and feelings matters”.
In my college, I had lectures from different nations. A couple from Australia, A couple from Canada, A couple from Netherland and French….. What a life! My other stage of life began. It all ended well as my perpective was broadened…after series of cultural shocks and cross culture misunderstanding….
Until at a point I realize that my future are wide open and I could be anyone I wanted…. I grew up into a more complex person. While preserving my old tradition and values, I accepted smoothly modern-wetern-point of vews.
I was doing fine with my study, but networking and side jobs took my focus more. I thought I learnt values and culture more than the language itself. I kept myself busy with classes in days time, while doing the courses and participating on various clubs in the nights. It was fun to tested and expereimented with various set of people and networking societies.
